Can Ohio State and Oral Roberts Hit a Rising Over?

Oral Roberts will try to be one of the early bracket busters of the year when they take on Ohio State on Friday. The Golden Eagles are making a lot of threes, and they get to compete against a Buckeyes defense that is not particularly strong. Basically, the entire roster of Oral Roberts shoots threes and can hit from behind the arc as they pivoted as an offense coming into this year.

Before the season, their starting center got hurt, and they just decided they would go all-in on a long-distance shooting strategy.  They have the nation’s leading scorer in guard Max Abmas, and he runs a lot of pick-and-pop stuff with Kevin Obanor. Obanor’s a big 6′ 8″ guy that can knock down threes. The Golden Eagles will try to get Ohio State to space out and spread the floor in order to play their deep shooters.

Oral Roberts’s problem is they don’t really play defense either, so while they may score, they will also allow the Buckeyes to put up points. That being said, the over looks like a real strong play at the FanDuel Sportsbook, which has moved up quite a bit since the opening number. It’ll be challenging for the +16 point underdog Golden Eagles to pull off the upset, but this will be a fast, up-and-down game between a pair of teams that can really score.
